Volunteer Opportunities
Part of the Hays Area Young Professionals' mission is to make the Hays area the best place to live, serve, work and play. One way to do that is to spend time volunteering within the community. We also volunteer for various events and programs that benefit the HAYP organization.
Below is a list of volunteer opportunities, dates if available, and who to contact about these opportunities.
Adopt-A-Mile
The Hays Area Young Professionals appreciate the clean community in which we live. To help maintain this clean environment we have adopted Municipal Park at 4th & Main (home to the annual Wild West Festival) as part of the Adopt-A-Mile program. Two to three times a year, the HAYPs meet to clean up litter in the park.
The more YPs we have to help, the faster the clean-up will go! We have several pairs of work gloves available for you to borrow and the City of Hays will supply the trash bags!
Thank you in advance for supporting the HAYP's community services initiative and for helping keep Hays a clean and beautiful place to live!
Midwest Deutsche Oktoberfest
The Annual Midwest Deutsche Oktoberfest is held annually on the 3rd weekend in September. The HAYP members volunteer to work the indoor beer booth for the polka dances during this Hays Area Chamber of Commerce Fundraising event.
FHSU Oktoberfest
The Annual FHSU Oktoberfest celebration will be held on the Friday, October 1st, 2010. The Ambassadors and HAYP members volunteer to work the beer booth during this Hays Area Chamber of Commerce Fundraising event.
